Danaë Body Butter

Danaë, glittering and gold, is made a glorious symbol by Gustov Klimt of divine love and transcendence in his 1907 painting. The central theme in Danaë’s story is overcoming boundaries, both physical and spiritual. The only daughter of the King of Argos, Danaë is imprisoned in a chamber of bronze when her father learns that her son, according to the sacred Oracle of Delphi, will slay him. Zeus, desiring Danaë and never bound by human walls or wills, enters her chamber in a golden rain of coins, the flow of which Klimt has positioned between the woman’s legs for effect. The arousal in the subject’s face is clear, and later Danaë gives birth to the “hero” Perseus. The theme here is simple, passionate desire and victorious eroticism, which Klimt uses to its fullest potential in his piece, which was an equality strong symbol of the time.

Danaë is fragranced with a bewitching blend of Geranium, to soothe a broken heart, passionate Rose to purify the heart, and Raspberry to invoke fun and playfulness in a relationship.
